On my mind...

Moving into the Internet Age

It has been an exciting time, bringing out four magazines(soon to be five with the addition of the Bethel Park Source) We’ve watched them become accepted in each community, enjoyed the enthusiasm readers are showing for the editorial content, and shared the pride in gaining the respect of township and school district personnel, and the support of local businesses.

But we are not the kind of publishers who just sit back and savor the good times. So, with barely a moment to catch our breath, we have decided to take things up a notch and go full tilt at the 21st century. We’re moving into the Internet Age. To build on and complement the strong growth of our magazines, we are introducing a full web site operation. In basic terms, we are acknowledging that more and more residents have Internet access and want lightning-fast access to information. To facilitate this desire, we have designed a web site for this and our other four magazines.

This web site capability will, we hope, grow into the most exciting information service you’ll find in the South Hills. We’ve spent enormous amounts of time and creative energy in providing a virtual world of data that offers convenient access to everything you need to know about your community. At the push of a button, you will be linked to school events, township improvements, summer activities, library news, sports schedules and local business developments.

Of course, until now we have been providing such information in each issue of our magazines. And we’ll continue to incorporate as much of this data as we can accommodate in each of our magazines. But the fact is that each community is growing so rapidly that they are creating more school, cultural, sports, and administrative activities than we can find space to give a full accounting of in our magazines.

The Internet is an exciting solution. Our web sites will include huge amounts of information: some, like listing township board members, will rarely change; others, like sports schedules, that will change each season, and yet others, like heavy snow storm activity, that will have an hourly impact on our lives. We’ll include all the data that will affect your life, your school, your work and your business. We hope it will be so comprehensive you’ll never need to go anywhere else for the information you’ll be able to conveniently access on our web sites.

With this, we offer our best to you as you enjoy our magazines and hope you will soon find our web sites to be just as useful tools as our publications.
