The Season of
Change
Regardless of who you are and what you do, change is good, change
is necessary. Change is in our future. Just look at the impact on our
thinking of the upcoming presidential race.
For example, healthcare is currently a huge topic and many believe
change in this area is of great importance in terms of our financial
survival and improved preventative healthcare options. Preventative
healthcare should be at the forefront of change in giving us a louder
voice in controlling the rise in healthcare costs.
Preventative healthcare is nothing more than taking the first steps
to preventing illness, obesity and the onset of early aging problems. As
club owners and managers, we hold in our hands the ultimate solutions
to a range of health issues that our members face. Americans, in
general, work more, exercise less and continue to eat the wrong foods.
The reality is…
Taking care of our members and attracting new members go hand in
hand. If members are happy to be in our facilities and believe what
they are doing is helping them live a healthier life, they will bring
more and more friends and family to join. Who doesn’t want to live
a better and longer life? By providing members and potential new
members with a great product, we realize that educated and qualified
staff and quality programs become essential in the process to
providing preventative healthcare.
Healthcare is a national issue with very local consequences
and solutions. What else can we do as club owners and managers?
We can get more involved in our local community, take steps
to attract more of the overweight and obese, population, and take
the necessary action to ensure our clubs are performing to their
maximum potential.
Like getting an oil change before an engine fails, preventative
healthcare can stop many illnesses before they become problems.
The implementation of the right system will take time and
commitment of resources and solutions by everyone involved in
the healthcare industry.
